With Intel Atoms taking over the netbook, HTPC, and low power consumption market, this past year I have built a number of machines using the JetWay JNC93-330W-LF motherboard. It has a 533MHZ FSB with a Intel Atom Dual-Core 330 and can max out at 2GB of DDR2 533 ram.
My purpose was to use this for a surveillance DVR, so I used it's PCI slot for a capture card. For the hard drive I prefer the Western Digital Caviar Blue series since they are designed for low power consumption. I am only running 4 cameras on this system so I don't know how it would fair with 9 or 16 cameras, but for my purpose as a low powered DVR unit, it runs great.
I have installed Windows XP Professional and had no problems getting all the drivers installed with the supplied drivers CD. I have also installed Windows 7 Home Premium and all the drivers auto detected which was nice.
Overall the machine runs well and since I leave it on all the time, it has been very reliable. If you are going for a full-blown HTPC using this motherboard, I would look for an Atom board that has HDMI output or a PCI-E slot.
This board is more suitable for a nice low powered unit for maybe a small server or just to use for standard stuff, not a power house. The BIOS has standard features and a useful "Always On" feature so the machine will turn back on upon a power outtage, which is a key for a DVR unit.
Overall, a very sturdy, reliable board, not really suitable for a full-blown HTPC setup, but a good low-powered option for lesser resource driven tasks.
I planned on building an Atom based storage computer with 6tb of WD green drives.
